DECA Makes History at Internationals

Anaheim, CA — The Camas High School DECA team had its best showing in history at this past week’s International Career Development Conference, which concluded on April 29.

CHS took 25 students to meet up with 19,000 other students internationally. These 25 students competed in the preliminary round going against 120 students in their category. From this round Camas DECA advanced six students in four events to finals where we had all four events making it to the stage being “Top 10” and three events made “Top 3” Internationally!!!

1st Place – Ashley Miles – Restaurant Food Service Management
2nd Place – K. Chen, C. Kirby, K. Horvath – Creative Marketing Proj.
Top Ten – Skylar Becerra, Xiansheng Yan – Business Research Project
Role Play Medalist – J. McPhun – Restaurant Food Service Mgmt.

Though these students did not qualify for finals, they did an excellent job competing against some of the best student from the U.S., Canada and around the world… Mackenzie Spady, Hayden Hunsaker, Tanner Fogle, Haruki Takada, Erik Johnson, Kelly Johnson, Monica Chang, Jack Kelly, Jordan Slotto, Colton Lessard, Dareena Stepanyuk, Bella Swanson, Wes Colvin, Sophie Eagle, Ben Cooke, Will Schultz, Nathan Loucks. We are so proud of their accomplishments! Read more at Lacamas Magazine
