Autodesk Field Trip – Rescheduled Feb. 15

All CamTech students are invited to attend a field trip to AutoDesk in Lake Oswego (South Portland). AutoDesk is a globally known software design company that specializes in a variety of engineering and design related software ranging from Architecture to 3D Modeling and much more… The trip will take place during school on Wednesday January 11th. We will leave CHS at 9:30 and return by 1:30 that afternoon. Lunch will be provided for us by AutoDesk! Permissions slips can be obtained from Mr. Williams in lab 504, the trip is limited to 25 students.

FIRST Robotics Open House Invitation


The FIRST Robotics team would like to invite all interested students to attend an open house tonight Wednesday September 14, at 7pm in the Hayes Cafeteria and will include a tour of the robotics shop and information about the program.

Local STEM & PIC Manufacturing Outreach Event

Manufacturing Day is October 6th, 2016.  SW Washington STEM and PIC (Partners in Careers) are organizing a local manufacturing outreach event.  They have invited up to 30 students from Camas to attend the event and plan to have about 300 total from around the region. The event will be informational and is intended to provide students with an idea of local manufacturing careers, potential connections for employment after high school, and information on educational pathways towards careers in manufacturing.  The event will begin approximately at 10am to run to 11:30 and includes lunch for attendees.  The intended audience are interested 11th and 12th grade students.  Contact Mr. Williams ( as soon as possible or stop by room 504 to sign up to attend this event.

The period for early admittance into CamTech for the 2016-2017 will end on March 11th. Applications will still be considered after that time frame, but at a slower pace.  For applications submitted after March 11, expect a response before the end of the school year.  Remember, even if you are not selected into CamTech, you can still enroll in many of the courses.

CamTech Showcase Night – May 24, 2016

bannerThe CamTech Program will be hosting it’s first annual Showcase Night here at CHS on Tuesday May 24, 2016, starting at 5:40 PM in the CHS Theater. At 6 PM we will migrate across the hall to our CamTech labs where students will be sharing a variety of projects and work they’ve done this past year in many of their lab courses.

Field Visitation to Columbia/Okura

Columbia ToolSpecial Thank you to Columbia/Okura located in Vancouver, WA for hosting a visitation of CamTech and Technology Education students March 18. Students were very impressed with the new and advanced technology used in their production lines. The tour took longer than expected and we’re looking forward to going back to see the rest of the facility which included an entire robotics section of the company.
