This service academy information session will provide the opportunity for prospective academy candidates and their families to meet with representatives from each of the military academies and members of the Congresswoman’s selection committee. They will be able to answer questions about the academies and the nomination process.

The event will take place on June 1st, 2019 from 10:00am-12:00pm at the Armed Forces Reserve Center: 15005 NE 65th St. Vancouver, Wa 98682

HotShots Youth Sports is Hiring!

Their league is looking for people ages 15 or older, male or female, who are interested in becoming a basketball referee. Experienced or not, we will train anyone who is willing to learn.

Swim team experience is preferred but they are willing to teach a new hire how to instruct swimming, if necessary.

March College Visits!

A representative from Warner Pacific College will be visit CHS on Monday, March 11th;  a representative from Northern Arizona University will be visiting on Wednesday, March 13th and a representative from Clark College will be visiting CHS on Monday, March 18th. All three visits will take place in the Career Center during Maker Time. See Mrs. O in the Career Center to receive a pass to attend these visits!

Scholarship Opportunity For Seniors Who Participates in Basketball!

The Evergreen Basketball Officials Association (EBOA) is proud to offer a $500 scholarship to one male and one female senior who currently participates in Varsity Basketball or ROTC. This award is in memory of US Air Force Captain Christopher Stover, a former Evergreen HS student, varsity cross country and track member, US Air Force Academy graduate and Pilot, and son of Rick Stover, an EBOA official. Chris was tragically killed during a helicopter training mission while preparing for another deployment.

Applicants should show leadership on their team/unit, contributions to the community, and academic excellence. Applicants need to fill out the online form, submit a high school transcript and two letters of recommendation from a coach, ROTC leader, community leader and/or teacher. Letters of recommendation must also include phone number and/or e-mail address of sender.

If you are interested in healthcare and want to see if you would be a good fit there, you can drop off a resume at their office. They are trying to hire at least one person to start working in July. There is potential for it to be a full time, full  benefits position depending on qualifications and the candidate.

The aide job includes: doing exercises with patients, cleaning rooms, scheduling, answering phones, light clinic cleaning, and other odd jobs as needed.”

This fair will be hosted by WorkSource and will focus on engaging attendees with local apprenticeship coordinators, and discuss Pre-Apprenticeship as a possible avenue for those interested.

This event is open to the public and is ideal for any senior who may be interested in getting into the trades after graduating as opposed to attending college. This could also be a good Career Exploration event for any students who aren’t sure what their plans are after high school.

Students can tour, apply and schedule their exam on that day. The $25 exam fee will be waived for those that apply and schedule their entrance exam during the event.
