Post Season Sports Update (2/22/16)

State Swimming – Led by Mark Kim he was the State Champion in the 200 Freestyle and 500; Tom Utas 2nd place 100 Freestyle; the 200 & 400 Freestyle Relay team were in the top 5 and finalist Finn McClone and Jeff Fadlovich in the 100 Backstroke; Eric Wu 200 IM and 100 Breast finalist and the 200 Medley Relay were a finalist! Great Season!
Dance – The dance team placed 2nd in hip hop and 2nd in dance at Mt. View HS competition this last weekend. In addition, freshman Amie Beld took 2nd in novice drill down and sophomore Ursula Hood took 2nd in advanced drill down. Way to represent ladies!
Girls Basketball – The girls’ varsity basketball team season came to an end on Saturday with a 36-48 lost to Eastlake HS. The girls ended the season at 18-5 and ranked #8 in the state by the Seattle Times. Thank you to all of those who supported the girls during their season.
State Wrestling – Congratulations to wrestlers Rylan Thompson and Dylan Ingram who both placed third at state this past weekend! Also, congrats to Cory VomBaur the wrestling coach for winning on Sunday at the Tacoma Dome in an “open” wrestling tournament!
State Gymnastics – Caleigh Lofstead placed 18th in Bars, Jacqueline Purwins placed 15th in the All-Around, and Emily Karkanen earned a 9.075 on the floor and a 7.15 on the bars. Freshman Madison Martin led the Papermakers on the beam with an 8.05. Lofstead scored an 8.625 on the vault and a 7.8 on the beam.
