Gymnasts Leap Toward State Title

(KOIN) — The high school gymnastics season is coming to an end and one program has been dominant all season long.

The Camas Papermakers rely on their team skills, which may sound odd when talking about an individual sport like gymnastics.

“There’s no I in team and there’s no excuses,” head coach Carol Willson told KOIN 6 News. “From the senior to our little freshmen coming in, it’s a good, cohesive group.” That’s been their recipe for success.

Gymnast Alyssa Shibata said there are individual good events but competing with the others who are good on different events “boosts us up even more and motivates us to do better, and we become bettter and work harder.” Read more at KION6
