Digital Technology Expo and Luncheon

expoOn Thursday, April 28th 2016 from 9-11 AM the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce will produce the “Digital Technology Expo and Luncheon” which will consist of five parts: a multi zone technology expo directed at business application, a lively demonstration stage, an education preview, a dynamic digital technology luncheon and, finally a “Technology Happy Hour!” This event will be unparalleled in our region and combines the strength of the City’s Innovation Partnership Zone (IPZ) in Digital Technology, WSU-Vancouver’s Creative Media & Digital Culture Program, the Columbia River Economic Development Council and a number of other community partners. 2016 Engineers Week High School Program

Would you like to experience a day as an engineer?  If so, you’re in luck… E-week is for you!

Registration for the 2016 Engineers Week High School Program is now open! Registration will be done via our website, deadline is Feb. 12, 2016. http://www.oregonengineersweek.org/

The event will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the Double Tree Hotel, Lloyd Center, in Portland.

We invite your school/organization to select ten sophomore or junior students, who may be interested in science, technology, engineering, math, or design careers, to attend this event. Each student will be sponsored by an engineer. Two teachers/counselors from your school/organization are also invited to attend. The event is free for students and teachers/counselors. We hope you will be part of this great event in 2016!


 

Career Exploration (ACE) Program

Camas High School has started an exciting Career Exploration program that enables partnerships between our school and business communities. Our After school Career Exploration (ACE) program allows students to participant in tours that:

– Acquaint students with local businesses and employment possibilities
– Provide students with a real-world context for what they are learning
– Spark career interests in our students

Our next tour will be at Underwriter Laboratories. Important information can be found below:
When: Thursday, January 21st.
Time: 2:10 p.m. – 5:30pm
What to Wear: Business Attire, Closed-toe shoes are a must.
Phone Policy: Cell phones may not be used during the tour and should remain in pockets or purses.
